Manchester Town Hall wedding photographer │ Rachel and Craig

10th April 2010

A theme adds extra sense of occasion to a wedding, and being serious aficionados of Northern Soul music, Rachel and Craig chose the 60’s.  Rachel looked just plain stunning in her Jackie Kennedy style knee length dress, the look completed with period shoes, handbag and white gloves, and complimented by perfect hair and make-up.  This was more than matched by Craig who is no style slouch!  What a suit, what a great pair of shoes, neat tie, not to mention Craig’s mod haircut, all effortlessly and unselfconsciously worn because this is Craig’s look.  Style king!

Rachel got ready at the Midland Hotel and the kind weather allowed me to get some great pictures on the short walk to the town Hall.  This was a lovely, warm and charismatic wedding of a lovely, warm and charismatic couple whose openness has really expressed itself in their pictures – this humorous shot of Rachel going phew! immediately after the ceremony is one of my favourite “alternative” shots.

Loved the characterful guests, many of them fellow journalists, loved the Man U shrine to Best and Cantona, loved the DJs, loved the wedding!

Rookery Hall wedding photographer │ Kirsty and Chris

9th April 2010

Rookery Hall is a great venue and I had been looking forward to Kirsty and Chris’ wedding for some time. I had planned this picture amongst the daffodils when I met up with them at our pre-wed meeting in mid-March and hoped the weather would be kind to the tender young daffs in the meantime.  After such a harsh winter nothing could be taken for granted.  So you can imagine my elation on the day when the weather turned out to be mild and the daffodils were in full bloom. Add a happy couple very much in love and what more can you ask for.  I like it when a plan comes together!

The wedding ceremony was held at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Knutsford which is modern, light and airy, and that really helped capturing these perfect little moments which will make a lovely sequence of pictures in Kirsty and Chris’ album.  Rookery Hall itself is an attractive blend of old and new, and the spacious gardens gave the children plenty of room to let off steam as well as giving me plenty of scope for photography.

Cheshire wedding photography at Disley Golf Club │ Sarah and Rob

3rd April  2010

I was a Cheshire wedding photographer for Sarah and Rob’s wedding at St Mary’s Church in Disley which is one of the oldest churches in the area.  This picturesque church dates back to the 14th century and over the years it has been restored very sympathetically.  The grounds around the church are one of its charms and it’s nice to see the grass around the gravestones being allowed to follow nature’s course rather than being trimmed to within an inch of its life.

Sarah looked lovely and the gentlemen looked very dapper in tophat and tails. With Sarah’s infectious and charming spontaneity spreading to all those around her there were smiles on tap in every photo.  This was only a half day booking (so I was really busy with the church ceremony included in this time) but Sarah and Rob were delighted with their pictures which made a fabulous album.
