Manchester Town Hall wedding photographer │ Laura and Peter

29th October 2011

I was a Manchester wedding photographer again at the end of October for Laura and Peter’s Manchester Town Hall wedding photography.  Laura and Pete charmed the pants off me when we first met up in 2010 and so it was at our pre-wed meet nine months later when I was greeted like a long-lost friend. Their warmth brings out the best in people and the Registrar (Manchester Registrars are tops!) made their ceremony so unique and heart-warming that I have to admit to fighting back the tears at times.

Manchester Town Hall wedding photographer │ Rachel and Richard

27TH November 2010

I was a Manchester wedding photographer for Rachel and Richard in late November.  They were married at St James in Didsbury which is one of my favourite Manchester churches, with or without the acappella choir.  The church, quietly tucked away yet so close to the main road, is full of character and there’s the added bonus of the park across the road, though at this time of year it was a little too nippy to make use of.  I did my best and managed not to murder the videographer, though at times I was tempted!

Manchester Town Hall wedding photographer │ Rachel and Craig

10th April 2010

A theme adds extra sense of occasion to a wedding, and being serious aficionados of Northern Soul music, Rachel and Craig chose the 60’s.  Rachel looked just plain stunning in her Jackie Kennedy style knee length dress, the look completed with period shoes, handbag and white gloves, and complimented by perfect hair and make-up.  This was more than matched by Craig who is no style slouch!  What a suit, what a great pair of shoes, neat tie, not to mention Craig’s mod haircut, all effortlessly and unselfconsciously worn because this is Craig’s look.  Style king!

Rachel got ready at the Midland Hotel and the kind weather allowed me to get some great pictures on the short walk to the town Hall.  This was a lovely, warm and charismatic wedding of a lovely, warm and charismatic couple whose openness has really expressed itself in their pictures – this humorous shot of Rachel going phew! immediately after the ceremony is one of my favourite “alternative” shots.

Loved the characterful guests, many of them fellow journalists, loved the Man U shrine to Best and Cantona, loved the DJs, loved the wedding!

Manchester Town Hall wedding photography │ Kathryn and Andrew

30th December 2009

I love photographing weddings at Manchester Town Hall. It has such character, Manchester Registrars are great and the staff always friendly and professional. Kathryn (based in Poland) and Andrew (living in America) asked me to be their Manchester wedding photographer for a very international wedding.  Kathryn wore a fabulous vintage lace dress which perfectly complimented her slender figure, and not to be outdone Drew was dressed a very well tailored three piece suit, something you don’t see too often these days.  The Bridesmaids dresses were burgundy, a great choice for a winter wedding.

It was bitterly cold outside and because of this the Bride and Groom preferred to shoot lots of individual family groupings in the warmth inside instead.  I do try to discourage having too many group shots because they eat up so much time, but sometimes it is inevitable, and with guests from near and far this was one such occasion.  Luckily the ushers had been well briefed so everything ran smoothly and on time.  The Wedding Breakfast and the evening Ceilidh were held in the Great Hall with its beautiful ceiling, oak panelling  and large murals on the walls and as always it looks fabulous in pictures.
